After a defensive mix-up in Sambaetiba's zone, Silvério Maranhense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Maciel came out of the goal and Silvério Maranhense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Luisinho Quintal fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sambaetiba's protests and gave Luisinho Quintal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th minute, Luisinho Quintal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomás Maciel acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 28th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jacinto Mesquita. Fernandinho Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcelinho Araújo to make the kick off. Tomás Maciel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Recife in the 93rd minute of the match. Sambaetiba's Tomás Maciel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Recife in the 95th minute of play. Thiago Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. 97 minutes in the game, Silvério Maranhense dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sambaetiba players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Zebelezinho SS.
