In the 17thth minute of the game David Nascimento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Emburana's Sérgio Pereira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Doriva Baptista fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Emburana's protests and gave Doriva Baptista a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th minute, Doriva Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Quixaba Futebol clube's Hamílton Cordeiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sérgio Pereira. That made the score 1-1 after 20 minutes of play. David Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ricardinho Sergipano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 31 played minutes David Nascimento rounded Emburana's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. In the 34th minute, Hamílton Cordeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Quixaba Futebol clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. David Nascimento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sérgio Pereira having to make a save. Sérgio Pereira made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Hamílton Cordeiro sent off a good shot on target. Sérgio Pereira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hamílton Cordeiro in the 44th minute. David Nascimento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sérgio Pereira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Charles Sá made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Quixaba Futebol clube's Gino Branco got a free kick in the 51st minute. Sérgio Pereira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Nascimento in the 53rd minute of the match. David Nascimento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sérgio Pereira having to make a save. Ricardinho Sergipano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Sérgio Pereira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sérgio Pereira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamílton Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Sabóia during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. But to his dismay, Hamílton Cordeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. After having played for 72 minutes, Hamílton Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quixaba Futebol clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hamílton Cordeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th minute of the match Glauco Gaspar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sérgio Pereira skillfully saved the ball. After 77 played minutes Quixaba Futebol clube got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Meirelles. In the 80th minute, Hamílton Cordeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute David Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Pereira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Hamílton Cordeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sérgio Pereira. Emburana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hamílton Cordeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Emburana's Sérgio Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Nascimento in the 90th minute of play. After 93 played minutes Emburana got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Rossi. Quixaba Futebol clube's David Nascimento got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
