The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Erik Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 7 minutes, Gildo Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Soberana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gildo Valle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Mocha AD's goalkeeper Rubens Vasconcelos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gil Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gildo Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Rubens Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nilson Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Sena in the 35th minute of play. Soberana's Nilson Baptista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony Sena in the 38th minute of play. In the 42nd minute Gildo Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubens Vasconcelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Soberana getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Gil Castro hit a great ball. Tony Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson Baptista having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tony Sena was the one to do the kick off. Rubens Vasconcelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gil Castro's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. After 59 minutes, Luisão Loyola mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mocha AD and the Soberana players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luisão Loyola hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Erik Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Nilson Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Mocha AD's zone, Gildo Valle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubens Vasconcelos came out of the goal and Gildo Valle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gil Castro in the 68th minute of play forced Mocha AD's goalkeeper Rubens Vasconcelos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Soberana's Gildo Valle got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Mocha AD's Elano Tróia got a free kick in the 71st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mocha AD's zone, Gil Castro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubens Vasconcelos came out of the goal and Gil Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gil Castro struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Rubens Vasconcelos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Soberana. Erik Coelho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nilson Baptista read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Nilson Baptista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erik Coelho in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nilson Baptista, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Tony Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Nilson Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Soberana's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Tony Sena 88 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. In the 95th minute, Váldson Breckenfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mocha AD walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
