An unexpectedly hard shot by Célio Félix in the 18th minute of play forced Oriental's goalkeeper Clóvis Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Rômulo Mendes fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oriental's protests and gave Rômulo Mendes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Oriental getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Rômulo Mendes hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, Tarcisio Massa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clóvis Miranda. Oriental's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tarcisio Massa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-5. Clóvis Miranda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tarcisio Massa in the 64th minute. In the 69th minute of the match, Célio Félix tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Clóvis Miranda saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The coaching staff of Laions FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jeremias de Carvalho had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 87 minutes into the game, one of Laions FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Célio Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the game, Hortêncio Mello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oriental's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laions FC the free kick. Hortêncio Mello hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
