Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Chiquinho Guerra started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The supporters of Itapopo booed when Oriental was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chiquinho Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. 7 minutes into the game, Chiquinho Guerra cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Décio Marinho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 11 minutes, Dino Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapopo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino Cearense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dino Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Miranda having to interfere. Rômulo Mendes took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Décio Marinho. Décio Marinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Décio Marinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rômulo Mendes in the 27th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Edmílson Loureiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chiquinho Mendes kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. It was a well-played corner which Guilherme Vergílio managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Clóvis Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino Cearense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Chiquinho Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 50th minute, Giuseppe Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapopo's supporters rose to their feet, but Giuseppe Novaes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clóvis Miranda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dino Cearense to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Oriental got a freekick which was hit by Chiquinho Mendes. In the 56th minute Hugo Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clóvis Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hugo Sabóia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Miranda having to interfere. Chiquinho Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Décio Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rômulo Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Décio Marinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquinho Guerra in the 68th minute of the match. Dino Cearense took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Clóvis Miranda. Clóvis Miranda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. If Chiquinho Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Clóvis Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino Cearense in the 78th minute of play. Chiquinho Mendes kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. In the 86th minute of the match Tony de Almeida shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Clóvis Miranda showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Rômulo Mendes in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Décio Marinho, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Oriental's Chiquinho Guerra slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Décio Marinho. That made the score 1-3 after 89 minutes of play. When Dino Cearense came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Itapopo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dino Cearense couldn't finish the play. Edmílson Loureiro charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edmílson Loureiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With his leg Décio Marinho managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when Oriental's Rômulo Mendes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Chiquinho Guerra was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 97th minute. Oriental's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Oriental had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
