The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Cantareia's Olavo Queirós sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Secco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Cantareia booed when Catete EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emerson Soeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 4 played minutes Durvalino Vidal rounded Catete EC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. When Percival Furtado came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Catete EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Percival Furtado couldn't finish the play. Júnior Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 20th match minute, Cantareia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Abreu to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute Percival Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Custódio Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Percival Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aloísio Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Durvalino Vidal made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Aloísio Cunha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Custódio Barreto. That made the score 1-3 in the 60 minute of play. Sandrinho Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aloísio Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Custódio Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Custódio Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aloísio Cunha in the 71st minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, Percival Furtado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Custódio Barreto. A collision led to Catete EC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Emerson Soeiro hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the match, Cantareia's Daniel Toledo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Júnior Leal hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. 95 minutes into the match, Catete EC's goal looked a bit too open when Sandrinho Hoffmann came free, but João Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Catete EC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Cantareia.
