João Secco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Didi Valladares in the 28th minute of the match. After having played for 29 minutes, Gustavo Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pennapolis SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustavo Moraes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Catete EC's João Secco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didi Valladares in the 30th minute of play. Enio Carvalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Percival Furtado's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Aloísio Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enio Carvalho having to interfere. Percival Furtado scored 0-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enio Carvalho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Enio Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percival Furtado in the 51st minute of play. With his leg Enio Carvalho managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Catete EC's Percival Furtado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Aloísio Cunha struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Enio Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catete EC.
