Faustão Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enio Pereira in the 11th minute of play. If Luís Gustavo Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pinhais SC's Enio Pereira got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manfredo Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Pinhais SC's Cássio Barros slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Faustão Quadros. That made the score 1-1 after 24 minutes of play. Enio Pereira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Faustão Quadros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cássio Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Faustão Quadros made a huge save.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cássio Barros to strike the kick off in the second half. Emerson Salgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manfredo Dias having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Pinhais SC's Murillo Saraiva got a free kick in the 58th minute. Alexandre da Costa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 59th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute Cássio Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustão Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Gustavo Baptista in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manfredo Dias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 68 minutes into the game, Felippe de Amaral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pinhais SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salinopolis FC the free kick. Faustão Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Barros in the 72nd minute of play. Eliézer Paiva hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. The supporters of Salinopolis FC booed when Pinhais SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enio Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Salinopolis FC's Emerson Salgado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manfredo Dias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Luís Gustavo Baptista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manfredo Dias was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Salinopolis FC's zone, Cássio Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Faustão Quadros came out of the goal and Cássio Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Pinhais SC's Murillo Saraiva got a free kick in the 89th minute. Faustão Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Barros in the 94th minute of the match. 97 minutes into the match, Edmílson Porto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manfredo Dias. Pinhais SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmílson Porto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
