Joaquim Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléberson Alagoano having to interfere. Baltazar de Brito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cícero Rezende read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. If Digo Vergílio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Armandinho Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Querida EC's Gualter Paulista got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Digo Vergílio struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Kléberson Alagoano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Querida EC. After 25 minutes, Fernandinho Tasso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Querida EC and the Cajui EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Querida EC's Fernandinho Tasso got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 26th minute of the match Igor Esteves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cícero Rezende showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kléberson Alagoano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Digo Vergílio, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. João Paulo Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléberson Alagoano having to interfere. Antônio Carlos Perez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cícero Rezende read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Cajui EC's Armandinho Azevedo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cícero Rezende. That made the score 1-0 after 38 minutes of play. Joaquim Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléberson Alagoano having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Digo Vergílio to make the kick off. João Paulo Neves struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. In the 68th minute, Querida EC's Digo Vergílio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. When Baltazar de Brito came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Cajui EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baltazar de Brito couldn't finish the play. If Armandinho Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cajui EC's Antônio Carlos Perez got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kléberson Alagoano made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Joaquim Valadares sent off a good shot on target.
