When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Luís Paulo Travassos put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Lenílson Donato. In the 28th match minute, Sambaitiba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Augusto de Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Novo's Lenílson Donato got control of the ball when Durvalino Recife tried to sneak it across the goal line. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Sambaitiba's Ulisses Vinhas got a free kick in the 55th minute. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 78th minute, but Walmir Novaes got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Sambaitiba hanging dry this time. In the 79th minute, Luís Paulo Travassos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cauan Soeiro in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walmir Novaes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lenílson Donato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durvalino Recife in the 96th minute of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
