Taparuba's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Carlos Braga 4 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Guilherme Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taparuba's supporters rose to their feet, but Guilherme Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio Luís Alvarenga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Itacare FC's zone, Cléber Paraibano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sílvio Luís Alvarenga came out of the goal and Cléber Paraibano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Guilherme Pereira put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Sílvio Luís Alvarenga. After a rather tough play, Taparuba's Cléber Paraibano got a free kick in the 19th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Cléber dos Santos notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Taparuba's Dorival Neto. Dorival Neto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Guilherme Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. Remo Pinho's late challenge caught a Itacare FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Cléber Paraibano made the kick off in the second half. Sílvio Luís Alvarenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléber Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guilherme Pereira might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sílvio Luís Alvarenga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The referee showed Laerte Lago the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Taparuba booed when Itacare FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte Lago didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 87 minutes, Silvinho Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itacare FC and the Taparuba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dudu Leite was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 88th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Dorival Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Braga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dorival Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Braga, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Dedé Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Carlos Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Dorival Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Itacare FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Taparuba for much of the match.
