The supporters of Mapada booed when Taparuba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedé Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 87 minutes of play Taparuba's Dedé Coelho was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 88th minute, Dedé Coelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute Mapada were awarded a corner. Bernardo Gomes went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Mapada's corner Bernardo Gomes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dorival Neto quite easily take care of the ball. When Elano Ceresso fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mapada's protests and gave Elano Ceresso a yellow card for diving instead. After 94 played minutes Mapada got a freekick which was hit by Elano Ceresso. Mário Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Many of Mapada's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Mapada may have spent more time on the ball, but Taparuba were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
