A hard shot 11 in the game by Dé Pontes from a close distance when the talented Sílvio Luís Alvarenga managed to make a qualified save. Itacare FC's players were relieved. A collision led to Itacare FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Naldo Meira hit a great ball. Itacare FC's Sílvio Luís Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Aguiar in the 16th minute of play. In the 17thth minute of the game Adriano Aguiar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itacare FC's Sílvio Luís Alvarenga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Ascencao's Dé Pontes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sílvio Luís Alvarenga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 24th match minute, Itacare FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laerte Lago to maneuver through the defense. Sílvio Luís Alvarenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Aguiar in the 26th minute of play. Sílvio Luís Alvarenga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dé Pontes in the 40th minute. 45 minutes into the game, Cléber dos Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itacare FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ascencao the free kick. The supporters of Ascencao booed when Itacare FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cléber dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cléber dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Carlos Braga made the kick off in the second half. Valdemar Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Braga in the 62nd minute of play. Cléber dos Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdemar Brito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cléber dos Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. Dé Pontes hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Sílvio Luís Alvarenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Silvinho Castro hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Adriano Aguiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Itacare FC's Silvinho Castro got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Oswaldo Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Luís Alvarenga having to interfere. Adriano Aguiar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Sílvio Luís Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dé Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sílvio Luís Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Aguiar in the 96th minute of the match. 98 minutes into the match, Ascencao's goalkeeper Valdemar Brito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cléber dos Santos. After 99 minutes, Oswaldo Linares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ascencao and the Itacare FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
