After a rather tough play, Mirandella SC's Zé Simões got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute, Gilberto Corrêa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Eduardo Valadares struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Danilo Rodrigues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Formoso SS. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Formoso SS's goalkeeper Jeremias Meireles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Marco Novaes came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Mirandella SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Novaes couldn't finish the play. In the 16th minute Abelardo Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Meireles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Luís Toledo hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Jeremias Meireles made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Marco Novaes sent off a good shot on target. Nuno Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Rodrigues having to interfere. Luís Eduardo Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Marco Novaes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mirandella SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Danilo Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Brodel in the 34th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Eduardo Valadares in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Danilo Rodrigues saved Mirandella SC from getting behind. Nuno Brodel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When André Luís Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Formoso SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Luís Toledo couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 52nd minute, Abelardo Antunes made a precise shot to the right of Jeremias Meireles. Formoso SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Jeremias Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 63rd minute, Nuno Brodel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Luís Eduardo Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nuno Brodel was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 67th minute. Formoso SS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, Mirandella SC's Adolfo Paraibano got a free kick in the 70th minute. Marcelo Machado was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 71st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 73rd minute Abelardo Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Meireles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Adolfo Paraibano fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mirandella SC's protests and gave Adolfo Paraibano a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Formoso SS booed when Mirandella SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 81 played minutes Mirandella SC got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Linares. Abelardo Antunes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jeremias Meireles having to make a save. In the 92nd minute Marco Novaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Meireles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mirandella SC had won after a very even match.
