Luisão Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caio Trancoso having to interfere. Dênis Alagoano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guga Rossi in the 16th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Didi Prata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Luisão Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Didi Prata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luisão Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caio Trancoso having to interfere. Aírton Pernambucano's late challenge caught a Tapiracanga EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aírton Pernambucano helped the player get up and apologised. After some careless play in the Tapiracanga EC defense, Guga Rossi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dênis Alagoano. The Tapiracanga EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dênis Alagoano should have stopped the shot. Romário de Senna's late challenge caught a Tapiracanga EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romário de Senna helped the player get up and apologised. Romário de Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luisão Pereira to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Luisão Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caio Trancoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th match minute, Guamiranga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Ferraz to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Tapiracanga EC booed when Guamiranga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldinho Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Didi Prata in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Caio Trancoso saved Guamiranga from getting behind. After 75 minutes of play, Tapiracanga EC's Didi Prata made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Caio Trancoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! 81 minutes into the match, Luisão Pereira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Caio Trancoso. Guamiranga's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luisão Pereira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. In the 85th minute, Didi Prata made a precise shot to the right of Caio Trancoso. Guamiranga's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. After a defensive mix-up in Guamiranga's zone, Fiori Faria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caio Trancoso came out of the goal and Fiori Faria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tapiracanga EC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
