Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rubinho Soares got the match started through his kick off. João Paulo Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubinho Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Paulo Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubinho Soares in the 9th minute of the match. When Jeremias Novaes came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Facção Capixaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremias Novaes couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Barretos's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rubinho Soares was slow to take the kick. During this time Facção Capixaba's players had a chance to rest. Arthur Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mazinho de Sena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Paulo Alcântara having to make a save. João Paulo Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubinho Soares in the 40th minute of the match. Rubinho Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Paulo Alcântara having to interfere. Manfredo Alvarenga struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. João Paulo Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Facção Capixaba. After a defensive mix-up in Barretos's zone, Vito Furlan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Paulo Alcântara came out of the goal and Vito Furlan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anderson Novaes to strike the kick off in the second half. Rubinho Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Paulo Alcântara made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Vito Furlan sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot by Vito Furlan from long distance, 57 minutes into the match, got João Paulo Alcântara's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 59th minute Rubinho Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Paulo Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Jeremias Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Facção Capixaba's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremias Novaes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Paulo Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Rubinho Soares put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of João Paulo Alcântara. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rubinho Soares in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Paulo Alcântara saved Barretos from getting behind. In the 75th minute, Umberto Fernandes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 78 minutes, Jeremias Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Facção Capixaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeremias Novaes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Paulo Alcântara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rubinho Soares's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rubinho Soares in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Paulo Alcântara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rubinho Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. João Paulo Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeremias Novaes struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. João Paulo Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Facção Capixaba. Barretos's João Paulo Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubinho Soares in the 92nd minute of play. A collision led to Barretos getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Noel Brito hit a great ball. Facção Capixaba played a much better game than Barretos and deserved their victory. The Barretos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
