Edgard do Vale came out of the goal and Jaime Cavalcante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Naldo Negri hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Edgard do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilmar Quirino in the 10th minute of the match. Zé Augusto Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerônimo Fernandez having to interfere. 19 minutes into the game, Jaime Cavalcante was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Velame AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Apiuna FC the free kick. In the 78th match minute, Apiuna FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisinho Coelho to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Apiuna FC booed when Velame AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serginho Cerezo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Apiuna FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Velame AD's performance. The match ended with a win for Velame AD.
