In the 16th minute Natanael Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hortêncio Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elias Saldanha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Elias Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of Timbauba FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sergio SC:s goal. When the match had been going on for 37 minutes, Sergio SC's Laerte Lima got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Tião Loyola. After 40 minutes, Patrício Guedes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sergio SC and the Timbauba FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Timbauba FC booed when Sergio SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrício Guedes didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Otávio Araújo to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Michel Soares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Timbauba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sergio SC the free kick. In the 53rd match minute, Timbauba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michel Soares to maneuver through the defense. If Carlinhos Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlinhos Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emanuel Tande's late challenge caught a Sergio SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emanuel Tande helped the player get up and apologised. Emanuel Tande kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Carlinhos Paranaense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Natã Torres charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Natã Torres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
