Iguitu SC's Carlos Fernando Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Ceresso in the 14th minute of play. Denílson Sabóia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Fernando Dantas having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Iguitu SC's zone, Denílson Sabóia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Fernando Dantas came out of the goal and Denílson Sabóia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denílson Sabóia in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Fernando Dantas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Dito Brito fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iguitu SC's protests and gave Dito Brito a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th minute, Dito Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the game, SC Turuna's Denílson Sabóia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Fernando Dantas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Luiz Guilherme Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luiz Guilherme Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SC Turuna's Luiz Guilherme Costa got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Denílson Sabóia made the kick off in the second half. Denílson Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Iguitu SC's goalkeeper Carlos Fernando Dantas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 61 minutes, Denílson Sabóia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Turuna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denílson Sabóia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denílson Sabóia in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Fernando Dantas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 67th minute Hernani Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Fernando Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 67 minutes of play, SC Turuna's Hernani Alcântara made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Fernando Dantas was left in no man's land by his defense there! 70 minutes into the game, Ivo Reis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Iguitu SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Turuna the free kick. A collision led to Iguitu SC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Ivo Reis hit a great ball. When SC Turuna's Denílson Sabóia in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Iguitu SC's goalie prevented a goal. Denílson Sabóia had several of the Iguitu SC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 78 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed Carlos Fernando Dantas as he didn't even see the shot coming. Carlos Fernando Dantas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Denílson Sabóia went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Hernani Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Denílson Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Hernani Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Turuna's supporters rose to their feet, but Hernani Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Fernando Dantas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over SC Turuna could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Iguitu SC throughout the match.
