In the 17th minute Dalmai Sainz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão de Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simão de Alcântara was a little too slow when Dalmai Sainz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 1-0. 22 minutes into the game, Marcelo Senna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CR Framengo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mourao SS the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in CR Framengo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! CR Framengo's Dalmai Sainz got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to CR Framengo getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Marcelo Senna hit a great ball. Mourao SS's Inácio Vale got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gildo Varela charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gildo Varela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, CR Framengo's Gildo Varela got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 40th minute Emanuel Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nunez Rico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Augusto Di Cola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão de Alcântara having to interfere. With a little luck, Mourao SS's Simão de Alcântara got control of the ball when Augusto Di Cola tried to sneak it across the goal line. Simão de Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalmai Sainz in the 45th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augusto Di Cola got free with Simão de Alcântara in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gildo Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão de Alcântara having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Luiz Bueno made a kick off. Simão de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalmai Sainz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the game, Toninho Ferraz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mourao SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CR Framengo the free kick. After 53 played minutes Mourao SS got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Ferraz. When Cesinha Tróia fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CR Framengo's protests and gave Cesinha Tróia a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mourao SS booed when CR Framengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesinha Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Augusto Di Cola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Dalmai Sainz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simão de Alcântara was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. After 61 minutes, Valdo Gonçalves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mourao SS and the CR Framengo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Valdo Gonçalves kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. When Augusto Di Cola came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the CR Framengo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Di Cola couldn't finish the play. After 63 played minutes Mourao SS got a freekick which was hit by Zacarias Alcântara. When CR Framengo's Dalmai Sainz in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mourao SS's goalie prevented a goal. If Emanuel Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jean Tavares took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Simão de Alcântara. Mourao SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Mourao SS's goal looked a bit too open when Dalmai Sainz came free, but Simão de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cesinha Tróia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Pedro Luiz Bueno got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 82nd play minutes Augusto Di Cola shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Simão de Alcântara and just under the crossbar into goal. 95 minutes into the game, one of Mourao SS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Augusto Di Cola walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Dalmai Sainz managed to get in a good position for a shot. CR Framengo's supporters rose to their feet, but Dalmai Sainz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simão de Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. CR Framengo had played much better football throughout.
