The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnaldo Catarinense during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 10 minutes, João Pedro Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quebo's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Pedro Cabral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Quadros hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Andrézinho Sergipano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paulista F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrézinho Sergipano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hílton Zanette breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Pedro Augusto Dionísio came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Paulista F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Augusto Dionísio couldn't finish the play. Antônio Carlos de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Pedro Cabral in the 17th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Quebo's zone, Pedro Augusto Dionísio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hílton Zanette came out of the goal and Pedro Augusto Dionísio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 26 minutes into the game, Pedro Augusto Dionísio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hílton Zanette. Pedro Augusto Dionísio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Ademir Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Carlos de Castro having to interfere. Andrézinho Sergipano might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hílton Zanette. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrézinho Sergipano ran back to his position shaking his head. Walmir da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton Zanette having to interfere. Durvalino Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Augusto Dionísio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Quebo defense, Andrézinho Sergipano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hílton Zanette. The Quebo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hílton Zanette should have stopped the shot. Quebo's Hílton Zanette played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Augusto Dionísio in the 64th minute of play. Andrézinho Sergipano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton Zanette having to interfere. Hílton Zanette showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Augusto Dionísio, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Pedro Augusto Dionísio might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hílton Zanette. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Quebo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paulista F.C the free kick. After 73 played minutes Quebo got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Pinho. 75 minutes into the game, Paulista F.C's Andrézinho Sergipano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hílton Zanette made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After 78 played minutes Quebo got a freekick which was hit by Ademir Quintal. If Pedro Augusto Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulista F.C's Andrézinho Sergipano got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
