In the 18th match minute, Paranaiba SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natã da Silva to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Eduardo Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamílton Secco, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hamílton Secco in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Eduardo Carioca saved Terreiro SC from getting behind. If Romário da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guto Teixeira during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 30 played minutes Paranaiba SC got a freekick which was hit by Guto Teixeira. Natã da Silva was shown his second yellow card after 34 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. After having played for 37 minutes, Vágner Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Terreiro SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vágner Loyola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vágner Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar Palmeira having to interfere. Vágner Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Almir Moura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Haroldo Braga to strike the kick off in the second half. Terreiro SC's Vágner Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 56 minutes, Hamílton Secco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paranaiba SC and the Terreiro SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hamílton Secco hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. If Vágner Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romário da Costa struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Gilmar Palmeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Terreiro SC. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vágner Loyola couldn't finish the play. Vágner Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Romário da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Gilmar Palmeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
