Carlinhos Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dedé Moura might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olavo Vides. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dedé Moura ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlinhos Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Cabral in the 25th minute of play. The attack was good, but when Gilberto Cabral in the 27th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The Miritituba fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Miritituba's Gilberto Cabral looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Carlinhos Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipe Pitta's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 40 minutes into the game, when Rodrigo Loyola put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tapiruaba SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! Luís Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilberto Cabral was the one to do the kick off. When Gilberto Cabral came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Miritituba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Cabral couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Miritituba booed when Tapiruaba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Germano Valladares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilberto Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gilberto Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felipe Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Carlinhos Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felipe Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlinhos Vale having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Tapiruaba SC's Juninho Rosado got a free kick in the 86th minute. Carlinhos Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
