The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Victor Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jerônimo Abraão kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Gilson Mesquita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Serginho Tande charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Serginho Tande the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 9th match minute, Itatiaiussu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serginho Tande to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victor Corrêa in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilson Mesquita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 12 minutes into the game, Itatiaiussu's João Augusto Esteves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matheus Tepedino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Gilson Mesquita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. If Serginho Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nando Zonta got free with Gilson Mesquita in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. João Augusto Esteves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guayanazes SC's Matheus Tepedino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serginho Tande in the 31st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Victor Corrêa took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Gilson Mesquita to make any attempt to save it. In the 36th minute, João Augusto Esteves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Serginho Tande received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Matheus Tepedino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If João Augusto Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Nando Zonta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Corrêa was the one to do the kick off. Victor Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 60 played minutes Guayanazes SC got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Arruda. João Augusto Esteves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matheus Tepedino having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Corrêa in the 75th minute of play forced Itatiaiussu's goalkeeper Gilson Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jerônimo Abraão's late challenge caught a Guayanazes SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jerônimo Abraão helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th minute, Jerônimo Abraão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Laércio Mazza took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilson Mesquita. Itatiaiussu's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Victor Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilson Mesquita having to interfere. Itatiaiussu's Gilson Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nando Zonta in the 82nd minute of play. Victor Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Gilson Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nando Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 91 minutes of play Itatiaiussu's Jerônimo Abraão was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 91 played minutes Itatiaiussu got a freekick which was hit by Jerônimo Abraão. 93 minutes in the game, Victor Corrêa dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 96th minute Nando Zonta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilson Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilson Mesquita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nando Zonta, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Guayanazes SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Laércio Mazza in the 100th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Itatiaiussu's goalie and right to Luizão Mattos. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Itatiaiussu's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The Itatiaiussu players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Guayanazes SC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
