After 7 minutes, Adrianinho Abreu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Viveiro and the Pendotiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 played minutes Viveiro got a freekick which was hit by Adrianinho Abreu. Pendotiba's Yuri Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Régis Figueiredo in the 16th minute of play. If Válbson Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Régis Figueiredo in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yuri Veloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Viveiro's zone, Sidnei Toledo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitório Negri came out of the goal and Sidnei Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling César de Lara in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Benjamin Vieira charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benjamin Vieira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 36 played minutes Pendotiba got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Vieira. After a rather tough play, Pendotiba's Benjamin Vieira got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Egídio Quaresma took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Yuri Veloso. Pendotiba's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Yuri Veloso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Régis Figueiredo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 47 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sidnei Toledo was the one to do the kick off. Vitório Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidnei Toledo in the 55th minute of play. If Régis Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the game, Belmiro Massa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Yuri Veloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Régis Figueiredo came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Viveiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Régis Figueiredo couldn't finish the play. In the 78thth minute of the game Belmiro Massa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pendotiba's Yuri Veloso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jaime de Mendonça hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 87 minutes into the match, Viveiro's goal looked a bit too open when Sidnei Toledo came free, but Vitório Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. César de Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The nice shot from César de Lara in the 96thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Vitório Negri had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Viveiro's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
