One of Esquerda SS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Laluce Esporte Clube:s goal. 11 minutes into the match, Geraldo da Fonseca dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Oscar Martins, 1-0. Luís Jacinto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oscar Martins having to make a save. With an all-out effort, Laluce Esporte Clube's Oscar Martins threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luís Jacinto, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 16 minutes, Wágner Arruda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esquerda SS and the Laluce Esporte Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Oscar Martins was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vitinho Gomes was the one to do the kick off. Luís Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luciano Catarinense in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oscar Martins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Oscar Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo da Fonseca in the 96th minute of play. Laluce Esporte Clube walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
