Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eusébio Alagoano started the match with the kick off. Donato Sarmento was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Glauco Carneiro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 2 minute of play. Donato Sarmento made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Jeronimo Sagrario sent off a good shot on target. Monleiro SC's Donato Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fernando Goiano in the 8th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Monleiro SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alexandre Souto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Donato Sarmento came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by EC São José's Alexandre Souto. But to his dismay, Alexandre Souto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Alexandre Souto struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Donato Sarmento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for EC São José. A collision led to EC São José getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Alexandre Souto hit a great ball. Glauco Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 24 minutes into the game, EC São José's Alexandre Souto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donato Sarmento made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Mike Maignan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 32nd minute, EC São José's Glauco Carneiro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-0. Donato Sarmento made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Luiz Fernando Goiano sent off a good shot on target. Donato Sarmento made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Alexandre Souto sent off a good shot on target. 39 minutes into the match, Monleiro SC's goalkeeper Donato Sarmento had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Fernando Goiano. Alexandre Souto might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donato Sarmento. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandre Souto ran back to his position shaking his head. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Glauco Carneiro made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, EC São José's Glauco Carneiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donato Sarmento made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. EC São José made a substitution. Délio Favoretto replaced Yan Sampaio. In the 62nd minute, Glauco Carneiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EC São José fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. After having played for 65 minutes, Luiz Fernando Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EC São José's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fernando Goiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alexandre Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Donato Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Fernando Goiano might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donato Sarmento. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luiz Fernando Goiano ran back to his position shaking his head. Luiz Fernando Goiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Donato Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Glauco Carneiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Donato Sarmento having to make a save. Donato Sarmento came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by EC São José's Glauco Carneiro. But to his dismay, Glauco Carneiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 10-0. Alexandre Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the game, EC São José's Luiz Fernando Goiano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donato Sarmento made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 11-0. After a defensive mix-up in Monleiro SC's zone, Glauco Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato Sarmento came out of the goal and Glauco Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexandre Souto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glauco Carneiro in the 93rd minute of play forced Monleiro SC's goalkeeper Donato Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that EC São José were the better team. EC São José's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
