Cléber da Silveira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jaime Paiva went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 18 minutes, Jaime Paiva made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Areao's Cléber da Silveira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Paiva in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cléber da Silveira saved Areao from getting behind. Jaime Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kiko Campideliss short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Edvaldo Medeiros to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cléber da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Albuquerque in the 31st minute of the match. Jaime Paiva struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Cléber da Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Londrina. Cléber da Silveira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. After the first half Londrina were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Gonçalo Guerra got free with Cléber da Silveira in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cléber da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emerson Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. A hard shot 95 in the game by Gonçalo Guerra from a close distance when the talented Cléber da Silveira managed to make a qualified save. Areao's players were relieved. After having played for 96 minutes, Luís Paulo Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Londrina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Paulo Mendes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Londrina could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Areao throughout the match.
