In the 3rd minute, Delfim Paraense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Inter de Melão fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Inter de Melão's Tobias Zachrisson got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 11th minute Ernesto Farias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorginho Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ernesto Farias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorginho Saldanha was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. 20 minutes into the game, Inter de Melão's Fabinho Valladares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jorginho Saldanha was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Almas's zone, Delfim Paraense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorginho Saldanha came out of the goal and Delfim Paraense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tobias Zachrisson struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Jorginho Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inter de Melão. Almas's Jorginho Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabinho Valladares in the 37th minute of play. In the 37th match minute, Inter de Melão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Mazza to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Inter de Melão's Acácio Pernambucano got a free kick in the 40th minute. After 42 played minutes Inter de Melão got a freekick which was hit by Dráuzio Mesquita. Delfim Paraense scored 0-6 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jorginho Saldanha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jorginho Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delfim Paraense, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

53 minutes into the match, Delfim Paraense dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jorginho Saldanha, 0-7. 56 minutes into the match, Fabinho Valladares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorginho Saldanha. Almas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabinho Valladares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. In the 60th minute, Ernesto Farias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 68 minutes into the match, Almas's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Farias came free, but Jorginho Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angelo Paulista in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudio-Paul Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Delfim Paraenses short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Jorginho Saldanha to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Denílson de Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Augusto Silveira during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Inter de Melão booed when Almas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Tobias Zachrisson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 90th minute of the match, Tobias Zachrisson got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jorginho Saldanha was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Delfim Paraense came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Inter de Melão fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delfim Paraense couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 94 in the game by Delfim Paraense from a close distance when the talented Jorginho Saldanha managed to make a qualified save. Almas's players were relieved. 96 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's Delfim Paraense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorginho Saldanha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Inter de Melão left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Almas.
