Razer Sphex's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rony Rosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Marumbe EC booed when Razer Sphex was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Cerezo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernão Coutinho got free with Leon Uxio in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oséias Rosa during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Oséias Rosa hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeferson Diniz in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benedito Prestes saved Marumbe EC from getting behind. 32 minutes into the match, Fernão Coutinho notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Razer Sphex's Leon Uxio. Leon Uxio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 36th match minute, Marumbe EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Branco to maneuver through the defense. When Rony Rosa came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Razer Sphex fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rony Rosa couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Jeferson Diniz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benedito Prestes was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. In the 43rd minute, 卓建默 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 45th minute Jeferson Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute, Fernão Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeferson Diniz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benedito Prestes came out and tried to block the shot, but Jeferson Diniz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 52nd minute. After 55 played minutes Razer Sphex got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fábio Queiroz. After recieving a nice pass, Marumbe EC's Luiz Paulo Penha tried to score from far away in the 56th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After having played for 65 minutes, Rony Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jeferson Diniz took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benedito Prestes. Benedito Prestes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Jeferson Diniz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 70thth minute, Benedito Prestes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 71st minute Jeferson Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeferson Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benedito Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeferson Diniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Teran kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After 88 minutes of play Razer Sphex's Luiz Fábio Queiroz was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 88 played minutes Razer Sphex got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fábio Queiroz. In the 92nd minute, Razer Sphex's Jeferson Diniz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. After 94 played minutes Razer Sphex got a freekick which was hit by David Teran.
