Aníbal Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos Bastos, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Márcio Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Aníbal Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Terreiro's Fernando Mota proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Terreiro from getting a goal against them. Aníbal Leal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zé Carlos Bastos's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. In the 28th minute, Waldemar de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th match minute, Terreiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Varela to maneuver through the defense. Terreiro's Fernando Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilton Valle in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Márcio Vidal notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Chatuba FC's Aníbal Leal. Aníbal Leal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilton Valle to make the kick off. Márcio Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Aníbal Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 65 minutes into the game, when Renan de Godoy put in a rough tackle. 65 minutes into the game, one of Terreiro:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Zé Carlos Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. With a little luck, Chatuba FC's Aníbal Leal got control of the ball when Márcio Vidal tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Terreiro's Raúl Varela got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 88th minute, Mauro Quintal fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Chatuba FC's zone, Mauro Quintal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aníbal Leal came out of the goal and Mauro Quintal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Márcio Vidal came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Terreiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Márcio Vidal couldn't finish the play. Raúl Varela hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute of the match Eliézer Ferreira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernando Mota showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 94 played minutes Terreiro got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Bastos. Fernando Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilton Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 98th minute, Márcio Vidal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Terreiro's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
