Campestre AC's Geovanni Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robinho Moreira in the 19th minute of play. If Pedro Luiz Linares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilmar Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Geovanni Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robinho Moreira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Geovanni Quintal made a huge save. Márcio Vidal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Geovanni Quintal when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 42nd minute, Márcio Vidal made a precise shot to the right of Geovanni Quintal. Campestre AC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Márcio Vidal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nilmar Nascimento to make the kick off.
