A wasted opportunity for The Losers. 27 minutes into the game, Donato Hoffmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Botafogo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Losers the free kick. After a rather tough play, Botafogo's Donato Hoffmann got a free kick in the 28th minute. Marcelo Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Passos in the 30th minute of play. After 30 played minutes Botafogo got a freekick which was hit by Guga Mazza. With a little luck, The Losers's Marcel Dracena got control of the ball when Donato Hoffmann tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, 王飞松 put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Marcelo Toscano. Marcelo Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastião Loyola in the 40th minute of play. When Ricardo das Neves fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Losers's protests and gave Ricardo das Neves a yellow card for diving instead. Ricardo das Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Sebastião Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Felipe Passos sped through Botafogo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcelo Toscano. 59 minutes into the game, Dênis Barbosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Losers were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
