The supporters of Seropedica booed when Sustino AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermínio Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute, Seropedica's Marcinho Messias ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Magno Hermes. Magno Hermes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 41 minutes into the match, Seropedica's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Pinho came free, but 姜烽鹏 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 43 minutes, Marcinho Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Seropedica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcinho Messias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Richard Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Umberto Andrade was the one to do the kick off. In the 63rd minute, Victor de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Seropedica getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Cristian Barbosa hit a great ball. Marcinho Messias's late challenge caught a Sustino AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcinho Messias helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Seropedica's Marcinho Messias got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After some careless play in the Sustino AD defense, Cristian Barbosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Magno Hermes. The Sustino AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Magno Hermes should have stopped the shot. After having played for 85 minutes, Reynaldo Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sustino AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reynaldo Pinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Magno Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. If Cristian Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcinho Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magno Hermes having to interfere.
