The score was now 1-0. When David Abad fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Espiãs's protests and gave David Abad a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th match minute, Espiãs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Abad to maneuver through the defense. Leonel Ellande kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Dionísio got free with Wiliam Vinhas in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Fogo Quente booed when Espiãs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelsinho Eger didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute, Espiãs's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Wesley Fantini fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Pedro Dionísio could shoot a difficult shot in the 16th minute, which Wiliam Vinhas however easily saved by the left post. In the 18th minute David Abad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Sandalio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Allan Delon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fogo Quente's Wesley Fantini quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luís Fábio Moura, made in the 21st minute of the game. In the 22ndth minute of the game Pedro Dionísio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Espiãs's Wiliam Vinhas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. It was a well-played corner which Manfredo Meirelles managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Ediberto Barreto charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ediberto Barreto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fogo Quente's Thiago de Mendonça was substituted for Allan Delon. A collision led to Espiãs getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Ediberto Barreto hit a great ball. Fogo Quente's Ruben Sandalio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Prestes in the 39th minute of play. After some careless play in the Fogo Quente defense, David Severijnse kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ruben Sandalio. The Fogo Quente fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruben Sandalio should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Dionísio to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Leonel Ellande made a precise shot to the right of Wiliam Vinhas. Espiãs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Wiliam Vinhas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Dionísio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Espiãs booed when Fogo Quente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruy Donatello didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 80 minutes, David Severijnse mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Espiãs and the Fogo Quente players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd minute, David Severijnse reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ruben Sandalio. The goal made the score 4-3. Wiliam Vinhas came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Fogo Quente's Pedro Dionísio. But to his dismay, Pedro Dionísio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3. Ruben Sandalio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Severijnse, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 92nd match minute, Fogo Quente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo Baptista to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Severijnse in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ruben Sandalio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fogo Quente's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
