Buriche's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave E.C 2 Janeiro RS the free kick. Samuca Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. If Samuca Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Buriche booed when E.C 2 Janeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 38 played minutes, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Fellipe Rezende shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Renan Hoffmann came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in E.C 2 Janeiro RS reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Magno Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buriche's supporters rose to their feet, but Magno Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Telmo Madureira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Buriche fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Renan Hoffmann should have stopped the shot. The E.C 2 Janeiro RS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing E.C 2 Janeiro RS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
