In the 18th minute, Cafu Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Geovânio Veloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cafu Paes in the 20th minute of the match. In the 21stth minute of the game Cafu Paes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ELO CRF's Geovânio Veloso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Simão Ortiz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgardo Lekubegi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. When Unidos do Morro FC's Cafu Paes in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Simão Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot. ELO CRF's supporters rose to their feet, but Simão Ortiz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgardo Lekubegi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kuzey Tanpınar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Renato Gerber fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Unidos do Morro FC's protests and gave Renato Gerber a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inácio Queirós got free with Edgardo Lekubegi in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 48th match minute, Unidos do Morro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato Gerber to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simão Ortiz to make the kick off. Unidos do Morro FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ELO CRF the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of Unidos do Morro FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ELO CRF:s goal. Unidos do Morro FC:s Edgardo Lekubegi showed great skill when he stopped Inácio Queirós:s penalty. With a little luck, ELO CRF's Geovânio Veloso got control of the ball when Kuzey Tanpınar tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Cafu Paes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geovânio Veloso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cafu Paes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 73 minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Unidos do Morro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilson Pernambucano came free, but Edgardo Lekubegi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Cafu Paes sped through ELO CRF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Geovânio Veloso. Dedê Severo struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Geovânio Veloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Unidos do Morro FC. Unidos do Morro FC's Mauro Mendes got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
