William Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Cardozo in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, Adalberto Torres cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. William Fontes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Adalberto Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Fontes having to interfere. William Fontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Torres in the 15th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the game, Fabinho Brodel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pirates F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aikivida the free kick. After a rather tough play, Pirates F.C's Fabinho Brodel got a free kick in the 16th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adalberto Torres in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck William Fontes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aílton Félix took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised William Fontes. William Fontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. William Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Torres in the 25th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Adalberto Torres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th minute Aílton Félix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Luiz Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Fontes having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Doriva Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adalberto Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Fontes having to interfere. William Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aílton Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabinho Brodel got his second yellow card in the match during the 42nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 43 played minutes Pirates F.C got a freekick which was hit by Fabinho Brodel. The corner led Aikivida's Dimo Abeijon to fire away a dangerous shot which William Fontes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A hard and well directed shot from Dimo Abeijon led 49 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Pirates F.C's William Fontes became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Artur Linhares made the kick off in the second half. William Fontes stood somewhat misplaced when Adalberto Torres came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 55 minute. If Dimo Abeijon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st of the match, Adalberto Torres tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but William Fontes got in the way and made a wonderful save. Aikivida's Adalberto Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Aílton Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aikivida's supporters rose to their feet, but Aílton Félix was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. William Fontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Guilherme Maia hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pirates F.C's zone, Adalberto Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Fontes came out of the goal and Adalberto Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Aílton Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aikivida's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aílton Félix was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aikivida made a substitution. Stasio Sala replaced Dimo Abeijon. Luís Guilherme Maia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 81 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Pirates F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Aikivida:s goal. In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for Aikivida. Aílton Félix stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving William Fontes. 0-5. After a rather tough play, Pirates F.C's Wanderson Pombal got a free kick in the 85th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Adalberto Torres kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving William Fontes. That made the score 0-6 in the 90 minute of play. Dedé de Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adalberto Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Fontes having to interfere. Adalberto Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 100th minute. William Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Aikivida booed when Pirates F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 101 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorian Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Pirates F.C fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Aikivida were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
