Orlando Pirates's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Pedro Luiz Cardozo scored to the left of an out of position Jorginho Maranhense, making the score, 1-0. Jorginho Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luiz Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorginho Maranhense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aílton Félix in the 10th minute. In the 10th match minute, Aikivida was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luiz Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Orlando Pirates's goalkeeper Jorginho Maranhense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jorginho Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Torres in the 18th minute of the match. When Aikivida's Adalberto Torres in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Orlando Pirates's goalie prevented a goal. In the 23rd minute Aílton Félix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorginho Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aílton Félix in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorginho Maranhense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jorginho Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Torres in the 26th minute of play. Orlando Pirates's Jorginho Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Luiz Cardozo in the 36th minute of play. Jorginho Maranhense was a little too slow when Dimo Abeijon got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 3-0. In the 44th minute, Aílton Félix ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorginho Maranhense was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Orlando Pirates's Jorginho Maranhense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Orlando Pirates from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adalberto Torres was the one to do the kick off. Jorginho Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adalberto Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Jorginho Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dimo Abeijon in the 52nd minute of the match. Aílton Félix took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jorginho Maranhense. Jorginho Maranhense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. A collision led to Orlando Pirates getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Tiago Arce hit a great ball. Jorginho Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dimo Abeijon in the 60th minute of the match. After having played for 89 minutes, Adalberto Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aikivida's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adalberto Torres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aikivida's Dedé de Lima was substituted for Aloísio Prestes. Aikivida made a substitution. Stasio Sala replaced Dimo Abeijon. When Aikivida's Adalberto Torres in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Orlando Pirates's goalie prevented a goal. Jorginho Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedé de Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. 95 minutes into the match, Orlando Pirates's goal looked a bit too open when Dedé de Lima came free, but Jorginho Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Aikivida players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
