The Goiatuba E.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Oséas Rocha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Marcel Kühlert made a huge save. In the 19th minute, José Paulo Dracena made a precise shot to the right of Edgar de Queiroz. Figueirense FC - FSCMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 24 minutes into the match, José Augusto de Brito had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgar de Queiroz. The tension between the Figueirense FC - FSCMZ and the Goiatuba E.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. During this time Figueirense FC - FSCMZ's players had a chance to rest. 57 minutes into the match, Dudu Mesquita dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Edgar de Queiroz, 1-6. Goiatuba E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but José Augusto de Brito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgar de Queiroz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Goiatuba E.C. booed when Figueirense FC - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilmar Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 71 minutes, José Paulo Dracena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goiatuba E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but José Paulo Dracena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Augusto de Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Goiatuba E.C.'s Marcel Kühlert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Adolfo Araújo in the 77th minute of play. José Augusto de Brito might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgar de Queiroz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Augusto de Brito ran back to his position shaking his head. Edgar de Queiroz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dudu Mesquita. After 86 played minutes Goiatuba E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ramon Lugo. The supporters of Figueirense FC - FSCMZ booed when Goiatuba E.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belmiro Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute, Belmiro Porto fired away a sharp free kick straight at the goal. It looked like it might be really tough for the goalie to handle, but the shot went into the stands to the left of Edgar de Queiroz. When Gilmar Recife fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Figueirense FC - FSCMZ's protests and gave Gilmar Recife a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd minute, Gilmar Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Goiatuba E.C.'s Ramon Lugo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Figueirense FC - FSCMZ. In the 95th minute, Dudu Mesquita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Goiatuba E.C.'s supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
