In the 9th minute, Anselmo Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to MARINOS F. C. getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Laércio Massa hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the game, Laércio Massa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Marcelinho Paulista was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 23 minutes into the match, Thor F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Laércio Massa came free, but Marcelinho Paulista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. MARINOS F. C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Moisés Leme in the 24th minute. The corner ended in Moisés Leme almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Thor F.C.'s Marcelinho Paulista did a great save. Horácio Toledo's late challenge caught a MARINOS F. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horácio Toledo helped the player get up and apologised. Laércio Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Marcelinho Paulista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Laércio Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Naldo Nascimento was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frank Berger during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 61 played minutes MARINOS F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Frank Berger. Falcão Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Falcão Coelho hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Thor F.C.'s Percival Silveira got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute, Laércio Massa made a precise shot to the right of Marcelinho Paulista. Thor F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Naldo Nascimento in the 77th minute of play forced MARINOS F. C.'s goalkeeper Clóvis Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 85 played minutes Thor F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Adilson Cavalcante. Rony Breckenfeld was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 91 minutes into the match. Rony Breckenfeld hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, Tiago Custódio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Although Thor F.C. had been in control for most of the match, MARINOS F. C. still came away with the win.
