RWD Molenbeek's Francisco Perez managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Cristian Leme in the 8 minute of the game. In the 12th minute Lauro Oliveira suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Guaraçai Esporte Clube's Ulf Engström was substituted for Lauro Oliveira. In the 13th minute, Francisco Perez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guaraçai Esporte Clube's Ulf Engström got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomé Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Cavalcante in the 21st minute of the match. Tomé Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wellington Charles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Mendes in the 24th minute of play forced RWD Molenbeek's goalkeeper Tomé Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 27 minutes of play, Guaraçai Esporte Clube's Ulf Engström made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 34th minute Augusto Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomé Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rômulo Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. RWD Molenbeek's Tomé Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony Mendes in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Faustão Motta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bonifacio Loi. Guaraçai Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Faustão Motta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. 42 minutes in the game Ariel Flor did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Toninho Toscano. Tomé Nogueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulf Engström, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wellington Charles made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Guaraçai Esporte Clube's Wellington Charles got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute Serafim Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the game, Ulf Engström lined in a short shot 1-5 behind a frustrated Tomé Nogueira. 60 minutes into the game, Wellington Charles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Tomé Nogueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tomé Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wellington Charles in the 69th minute of play. After 71 minutes of play, Guaraçai Esporte Clube's Toninho Toscano made it 1-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tomé Nogueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tomé Nogueira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rômulo Cabral in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute, Guaraçai Esporte Clube's Wellington Charles ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tomé Nogueira. Tomé Nogueira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-9. Toninho Toscanos short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Tomé Nogueira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 80th minute, Tony Mendes made a precise shot to the right of Tomé Nogueira. RWD Molenbeek's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-10. RWD Molenbeek's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Wellington Charles scored to the left of an out of position Tomé Nogueira, making the score, 1-11. Tomé Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wellington Charles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomé Nogueira was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Ulf Engström capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ulf Engström really showed his touch with that goal: 1-12. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Ulf Engström took a quick shot and it went in 1-13 without a chance for Tomé Nogueira to make any attempt to save it.
