An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronalds McDonald in the 2nd minute of play forced Penha Athletico Club's goalkeeper Valdomiro Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valdomiro Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronalds McDonald in the 4th minute of play. Tião Valle hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Ronalds McDonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdomiro Pirani having to interfere. The Desportivo Coala fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Desportivo Coala's Ronalds McDonald looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Ronalds McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdomiro Pirani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ronalds McDonald went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Astor Hug made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Fernando Tróia in the 27th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Ronalds McDonald had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valdomiro Pirani. Penha Athletico Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronalds McDonald was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Ronalds McDonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdomiro Pirani having to interfere. The supporters of Penha Athletico Club booed when Desportivo Coala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronalds McDonald didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdomiro Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronalds McDonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marián De Bruyne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Valdomiro Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valdomiro Pirani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronalds McDonald in the 44th minute of the match. Valdomiro Pirani stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronalds McDonald's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. The audience was convinced that Ronalds McDonald's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdomiro Pirani was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. After the first half Desportivo Coala were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronalds McDonald was the one to do the kick off. Ronalds McDonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Ronalds McDonald took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Valdomiro Pirani to make any attempt to save it. After 61 minutes, Belmiro Veiga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Penha Athletico Club and the Desportivo Coala players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 62 played minutes Penha Athletico Club got a freekick which was hit by Belmiro Veiga. Marián De Bruyne received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valdomiro Pirani came out and tried to block the shot, but Marián De Bruyne slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 63rd minute. In the 68th minute, Ronalds McDonald ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valdomiro Pirani was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Ronalds McDonalds short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Valdomiro Pirani to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 77 minutes into the match, Desportivo Coala's Ronalds McDonald sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valdomiro Pirani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronalds McDonald got free with Valdomiro Pirani in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 91st minute of the match, Marián De Bruyne got a very nice opportunity to score, but Valdomiro Pirani was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Desportivo Coala booed when Penha Athletico Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernani Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronalds McDonald in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdomiro Pirani saved Penha Athletico Club from getting behind.
