In the 18th match minute, RiverFolia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio de Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, RiverFolia's Luís Gustavo Cardoso got a free kick in the 20th minute. RiverFolia's Oliver Bierhoff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Augusto Travassos in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd match minute, RiverFolia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio de Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. RiverFolia's Oliver Bierhoff proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save RiverFolia from getting a goal against them. The referee ignored Granja SC's protests and gave Claudinei Abraão a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of RiverFolia booed when Granja SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinei Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelinho Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elder de Barros having to interfere. After the first half RiverFolia were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by João Augusto Travassos in the 81st minute of play forced RiverFolia's goalkeeper Oliver Bierhoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Granja SC fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when Granja SC's João Augusto Travassos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Oliver Bierhoff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dadá Couto, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Caio de Mendonça kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Elder de Barros. That made the score 2-4 in the 86 minute of play. Luís Gustavo Cardoso's late challenge caught a Granja SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. One of RiverFolia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Granja SC:s goal. In the 99th minute there was a penalty for Granja SC. Nestor de Sena stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Oliver Bierhoff. 3-4. The Granja SC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching RiverFolia's performance. The match ended with a win for RiverFolia.
