With a little luck, ShiroDog's Anselmo Elodio got control of the ball when Adrianinho Cruz tried to sneak it across the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giuseppe Diniz couldn't finish the play. Herminio Admon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Prestes having to interfere. If Ivo Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adrianinho Cruz hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute, Adrianinho Cruz made a precise shot to the right of Anselmo Elodio. ShiroDog's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Vermelho 23's Raimundo Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giuseppe Diniz in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adrianinho Cruz was the one to do the kick off.
