The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sérgio Vianna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edinho Castro having to interfere. Edinho Castro was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and João Carlos Romero capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. João Carlos Romero really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 36th minute, Diego Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes in the game Delfim Dionísio did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Oséas Zanette. Tiago Gabriel Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Carlos Romero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Benê Saraiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poty City FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benê Saraiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlinhos Vasconcelos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Poty City FC's Edinho Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Carlos Romero in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Vianna in the 73rd minute of play forced Poty City FC's goalkeeper Edinho Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edinho Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Vianna in the 75th minute of the match.
