After 14 played minutes Bruno Henrique rounded Phoenix Fc's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruno Henrique during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st minute Bruno Henrique shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gato Preto FC's Paulo Renato Pernambucano shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 23rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Luís Fábio Bezerra but with some difficulty. Adhemar Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Peixoto having to interfere. Chicão Peixoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adhemar Teles in the 28th minute of play. If Haroldo Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adhemar Teles might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chicão Peixoto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adhemar Teles ran back to his position shaking his head. Chicão Peixoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adhemar Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Dênis Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Phoenix Fc getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Alfredinho Nogueira hit a great ball. Dênis Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Luís Fábio Bezerra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gato Preto FC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adhemar Teles in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chicão Peixoto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bruno Henrique was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 58 minutes, Bruno Henrique managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gato Preto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruno Henrique was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Fábio Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dênis Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute.
