In the 3rd minute of the match, Raimundo Travassos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Aritza Vicuña saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 10 minutes of play, Caboto SS's Murilo Guedes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fábio Pinheiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 15th minute, Reynaldo Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the match, Caboto SS's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Travassos came free, but Aritza Vicuña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute Raimundo Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aritza Vicuña saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Murilo Guedes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fábio Pinheiro. Gremio NG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Murilo Guedes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a rather tough play, Caboto SS's David Duarte got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 26th minute, Raimundo Travassos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aritza Vicuña. The goal made the score 1-2. 30 minutes into the game, Hélder Antunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gremio NG's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caboto SS the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dino do Vale in the 33rd minute of play forced Caboto SS's goalkeeper Aritza Vicuña to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Júnior Quintana took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Aritza Vicuña to make any attempt to save it.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Murilo Guedes made a kick off. Aritza Vicuña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Travassos in the 52nd minute of the match. Aritza Vicuña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino do Vale in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murilo Guedes in the 60th minute of play forced Gremio NG's goalkeeper Fábio Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Murilo Guedes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fábio Pinheiro was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. After 89 minutes, Christian Figueiredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gremio NG and the Caboto SS players grew even worse after the yellow card.
