The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rubens Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the game, Enzo Romo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rubens Cruz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 13 minutes, Jailson Couto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itaberaba FC and the Blue Mountain State players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Blue Mountain State getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Humberto de Sena hit a great ball. In the 15th minute of the match Emerson Leal sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Eduardo Vargas skillfully saved the ball. After 18 minutes, Enzo Romo made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Itaberaba FC's Rubens Cruz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jailson Oliveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Enzo Romo put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Rubens Cruz. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Enzo Romo in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubens Cruz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Enzo Romo struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Rubens Cruz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blue Mountain State. Enzo Romo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enzo Romo in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubens Cruz saved Itaberaba FC from getting behind. 陆晨强 kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jailson Couto made the kick off in the second half. When Manfredo de Mendonça fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blue Mountain State's protests and gave Manfredo de Mendonça a yellow card for diving instead. Manfredo de Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Itaberaba FC's Claudinei do Nascimento couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 54th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Blue Mountain State. 0-5 became the score in the 58th minute when Enzo Romo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Angelo Paublo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Cruz having to interfere. Enzo Romo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Rubens Cruz made a huge save. After 69 played minutes, Blue Mountain State's 陆晨强 shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rubens Cruz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Blue Mountain State reached it. Enzo Romo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Itaberaba FC's Abelardo Custódio got a free kick in the 77th minute. Enzo Romo might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rubens Cruz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enzo Romo ran back to his position shaking his head. Rubens Cruz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enzo Romo in the 78th minute. The long shot by Manfredo de Mendonça in the 79th minute really tested Rubens Cruz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The audience was convinced that Enzo Romo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rubens Cruz was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. If Humberto de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enzo Romo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rubens Cruz came out and tried to block the shot, but Enzo Romo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 87th minute. Enzo Romo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Rubens Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 92 minutes, Humberto de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blue Mountain State's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Rubens Cruz managed to avoid a goal in the 97thth minute, when Blue Mountain State's Enzo Romo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
