Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Fabiano de Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jailson Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Fabiano de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Dracena, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. The Pombal 2003 F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Di Yuan Liang looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Di Yuan Liang in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubens Cruz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Itaberaba FC defense, Di Yuan Liang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rubens Cruz. The Itaberaba FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rubens Cruz should have stopped the shot. Alan Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Rubens Cruz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Di Yuan Liang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Cruz having to interfere. Sebastian Zieba scored 0-6 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rubens Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Di Yuan Liang in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubens Cruz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rubens Cruz came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Di Yuan Liang. But to his dismay, Di Yuan Liang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. Disappointed in the 0-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 52nd match minute, Itaberaba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovanni Berger to maneuver through the defense. Di Yuan Liangs short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Rubens Cruz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 56th minute Di Yuan Liang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubens Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hermínio Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Cruz having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Di Yuan Liang in the 59th minute of play forced Itaberaba FC's goalkeeper Rubens Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Di Yuan Liang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rubens Cruz having to make a save. Di Yuan Liang had several of the Itaberaba FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 63 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-8 score and a disappointed Rubens Cruz as he didn't even see the shot coming. After having played for 66 minutes, Sebastian Zieba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pombal 2003 F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Zieba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Giovani Furlan was substituted for Hermínio Moraes. Rubens Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Di Yuan Liang in the 70th minute of the match. Rubens Cruz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Di Yuan Liang's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Di Yuan Liang's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Rubens Cruz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With his leg Rubens Cruz managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Di Yuan Liang fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Pombal 2003 F.C. booed when Itaberaba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jailson Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Itaberaba FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Pombal 2003 F.C. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
